Security Screener

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills who is enthusiastic about safety to join our Team in East Moriches, NY! The Security Screener would welcome and screen all employees, temporary personnel, visitors, and vendors. Our ideal candidate will be someone with professionalism, who is watchful and has strong integrity to help ensure a safe environment. The Security ID Screener will report directly to Human Resources.

What can you expect on the job?

• Ensure all employees, temps and visitors have appropriate ID upon entering the facility.
• Take appropriate action when someone is missing their ID badge, including entering the information in the security log and contacting the appropriate person.
• Make sure that all employees pass through the randomizer, and if selected, the screener should review the badge thoroughly to ensure it belongs to the individual and keep an electronic logbook with a record of the employees randomly selected for a more in-depth screening.
• Familiarize themselves with Tates employees for easy identification.
• Maintains a log with employees who have lost or forgot to bring their ID badge.
• Remain on post during the scheduled hours; post shall not be unoccupied for any reason during the scheduled shift unless properly relieved or location is secured by mgmt.
• Perform all other specific responsibilities and duties as required by the Manager.

Other duties

Report hazardous or nuisance conditions, accidents, medical needs, fires and unusual incidents and activities within their assigned areas of coverage to their appropriate contact.

What should you bring?

• Bilingual Spanish required
• High school or equivalent (Required)
• Ability to work near employee entrance; Must be able to sit and stand for lengthy periods of time.
• Individual must be assertive and vocal (command presence) but appropriate.
• Experience in security operations or check in role at a high pedestrian is preferred.
• Individual must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Individual must be professional and reliable.
• Must know when to escalate issues.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner, notify the appropriate staff member.
• Be at least 18 years of age.

Experience:

• Relevant experience >1 year
• Customer service: 1 year (Required)
• Security: 1 year (Required)

Where will you work?

• East Moriches, NY

Schedule

• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• 3:00AM-11:00AM
