Security Officer

Position Overview

Keep our communities fed.

Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our offices — every employee of C&S and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities. As a Security Officer, you will secure and protect all company property including buildings, equipment and product inventory as well as all associates by maintaining control of traffic flow and access to the facility. You will respond to emergency situations with a sense of urgency and maintain open communication flow with management staff. Essential duties following; other duties may be assigned.

Job Description

• Full Time, On-Site Role
• Location: 47 Old Ferry Rd., Brattleboro, VT 05301

You will contribute by:

• Logging inbound deliveries (live load and backhaul) and direct trucks to the proper receiving door. Notifying the receiving supervisor.
• Recording all vehicles entering and leaving the facility.
• Verifying seals and sign off on the trip sheet of all fleet vehicles.
• Inspecting vendor trucks exiting facility for product or pallets and sign off on gate pass.
• Inspecting trunks on all vehicles before exiting.
• Checking employee ID before allowing access to the facility and checking all packages or coolers before employees exit the facility.
• Logging in all visitors and notify the department before access is given to visitors.
• Denying access to unauthorized individuals/vehicles.
• Performing facility rounds, door seal checks, pilferage checks, and temperature checks
• Transporting injured workers to medical facility for treatment following accident as necessary
• Completing all paperwork and reports as necessary
• Completing other duties as assigned

Environment

• Grocery warehouse: (50F to 80F)
• Perishable warehouse: (20F to 60F)
• Freezer warehouse: (-20F to -10F)
• Steel toe shoes are mandatory for safety reasons.

We’re searching for candidates with:

• Essential Physical Abilities:
• Constant: Visual and auditory perception; frequent engagement in activities such as standing, walking, sitting, and tactile sensing.
• Occasional: Reaching, stooping, climbing, balancing, driving, bending, twisting, handling paperwork, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, and gripping objects ranging from under 20 lbs. to over 60 lbs.
• The successful performance of this role requires the ability to satisfactorily execute each essential duty.
