Description

Security Officer Description:

The Security Officer acts as an ambassador of the casino while protecting the assets and providing a safe environment for our employees and guests.  Performs all functions in accordance with applicable gaming laws and regulations, as well as Sac & Fox Casino’s established policies, procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

The following is a list of the main duties/responsibilities; other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by your supervisor/manager.

  1. Responsible for the safety and well-being of guests and fellow employees.
  2. Gives directions and provides escort to customers in need.
  3. Provides assistance to civil and law enforcement authorities, including testimony in court and other administrative hearings.
  4. Makes chip fills, verifies jackpots when needed.
  5. Regularly provides escorts of money and persons in money-handling positions.
  6. Provides first aid, including CPR when necessary and as trained.
  7. Patrols all sections of property to identify safety hazards and breaks in security.
  8. Interviews, investigates and documents all applicable incidents in accordance with company policy.
  9. Makes lost and found detailed descriptions of people and incidents.
  10. Completes daily paperwork and logs as requested by manager or supervisor.
  11. Practice courteous, respectful treatment and communications with all customers, team members and managers at all levels.
  12. Practice professional and competent attitude, personal hygiene, grooming and appearance at all times.
  13. Enforce and follow security policy and procedure as well as all Casino policy and procedure.
  14. Follow on-going promotions in preparation of answering questions from customers and understanding functions that security may have a role in, such as securing drawing hoppers, crowd control, etc.            
  15. Performs all other job related duties as requested.

SECURITY OFFICER/ SUPERVISOR SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Will fill in and supervise all Security Officers on the assigned shift, and observe all Supervisor duties when the full time Supervisor is not on shift.

Security Supervisor Description:

The Security Supervisor acts as an ambassador of the casino while protecting the assets and providing a safe environment for our employees and guests.  Acts as Sergeant of the Guard and is responsible for security functions on assigned shift. Performs all functions in accordance with applicable laws and gaming regulations, as well as established policies, procedures and controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

The following is a list of the main duties/responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the General Manager or Executive Director of Casino Operations.

  1. Responsible for all security functions on assigned shift.
  2. Works effectively with all departments assuring efficient security support is provided when needed.
  3. Establishes and maintains a progressive and empowered work force.
  4. Trains, counsels, and coaches assigned personnel in the performance of their duties.
  5. Prepares and presents Performance Appraisal Reviews to Security manager for approval before discussing with employee.
  6. Responsible for the safety and well being of guests and fellow employees.

  19. Maintains professional skills by staying abreast of current technical developments and participation in developments programs available within and outside the tribe.
  20. Follow on-going promotions in preparation of answering questions from customers and understanding functions that security may have a role in, such as securing drawing hoppers, crowd control, etc.
  21. Performs all other job related duties as requested.   

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.   Supervision of all Security Officers on assigned shift.

Qualifications

Security Officer Qualifications: 

  1. Prior experience in casino security, law enforcement, military or civilian security services preferred.
  2. Must be able to perform assigned tasks under limited supervision
  3. CLEET Certification l & ll training desired or willing to obtain.
  4. Security CLEET License minimum of Phases l & ll desired or willing and able to obtain within 90-days of hire.
  5. Must be able to meet and obtain all training requirements and certifications such as, CPR/First Aid/ AED, Defensive Tactics Techniques and all other training the security department requires.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

1.   High School diploma or GED required.

2.   The ability to read and write English proficiently and understand both written and verbal instructions.

3.    One to two years’ work experience in dealing in person, on the telephone, and directly with customers is preferable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets the most complex of documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from employees, customers, regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively present information to employees, managers and top management.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram from and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and work with mathematical concepts. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to interpret data from graphs.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Basic analytical and deductive reasoning ability. Must have remarkable interpersonal relations skills.  Ability to see problems and avoid situations that could be deemed illegal or represent a safety hazard to fellow team members or customers.  Must be able to listen to and assist team members and/or guests in finding solutions to problems or concerns.

SERVICE CULTURE:

The Security Officer will support a “culture of service” where motivated employees in this Casino take a customer-focused approach to their regular duties and work activities and where the customer is the most important visitor on our premises.

Security Supervisor Qualifications:

  1. Security CLEET License in Phase I, II, and IV.
  2. Must be 21 years of age due to CLEET certification requirements.
  3. Must be able to meet and obtain all training requirements and certifications such as, CPR/First Aid/ AED, Defensive Tactics Techniques and all other training the security department requires.                        
  4. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of security supervisor or related experience, preferably in a Casino environment.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are necessary.
  6. Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school diploma or GED required.
  2. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and leadership experience.
  3.  May require the knowledge, skill and abilities to work with personal computers.
  4. The ability to read and write English proficiently and understand both written and verbal instructions.
  5. One to Two years of experience in a position that required supervision of staff.
  6. Experience in problem identification and solving with customers and employees would be preferable.
