Job Description

Starting Pay: $16.50/hour

Schedule: Must have Open Availability, All Shifts, All Days

Allied Universal has security jobs and are seeking to fill the position of a Security Officer - Entry Level. This is an entry-level position to join the security industry. We'll assist with obtaining your licenses required by state law. This is a flex officer position, meaing you will be filling in for other officers on their days off, using their PTO, or other reasons and when the site has additional events. As a result, this is between 24-40 hours per week, but the days and hours will vary. Shifts can be 8am-4pm, 11am-7pm, 4pm-midnight, or midnight-8am. Will include weekends. This position also requires a great deal of walking, up and down stairs, escalators, and may require lifting, running in an emergency situation.

 

The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. A Security Officer acts as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions and detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts, which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

• As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
• Required to work for multiple clients at multiple locations; covering special projects, call offs, vacations and open shifts
• Must be available to work any time and day
• Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
• Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
• Able to:
  • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
  • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
