Security Officer

The University Club is a prestigious private club in NYC- offering unparalleled services to members - from gracious dining, luxurious accommodations and a variety of social events, to extensive athletic facilities and the world’s largest and finest club library. We are looking for an experienced Security officer to join the Security team.

Security officers will be responsible for patrolling club premises to detect potential security and safety hazards. This includes supporting other department activities to assure the highest level of member, guest and employee service. If you have excellent observation skills, strong conflict management abilities, and a commitment to ensuring the safety of others, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Conduct regular patrols of the premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or hazard.

· Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identity potential security threats.

· Respond promptly to alarms and investigate disturbances.

· Provide assistance and support to all employees, members and guests in a professional and courteous manner.

• Be knowledgeable of emergency contacts and procedures in the event of medical or other crisis situations

· Enforce club policies and procedures to maintain order and ensure compliance.

· Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of security-related activities.

· Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed.

• Assist members and guests with door lock problems, assist with malfunctioning guestroom safes.
• Perform other duties as requested

Position Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Valid security certificate or license

· First aid, CPR and AED certification

· Proven experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or law enforcement is a plus

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to remain calm and composed in high pressure and sensitive situations.

· Strong conflict management skills

· Maintain professional grooming standards

· Fire Life Safety certification a plus.

· Hospitality/concierge experience preferred

· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

· Prepared to work flexible hours including overnight nights and weekends and all holidays

· Must have strong command of the English language, both written and spoken.

· Have excellent communication and customer service skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
