Job Description
About the Role
The Huntington seeks a talented and experienced Security Officer to join our team. Officers will ensure the safety and protection of our staff, visitors, collections and property. This is a full-time, graveyard shift position at 40 hours per week from 12am -8:30am.
Essential Functions
Inspect and patrol premises regularly
Monitor assigned areas in the gardens, galleries, or library, ensuring visitors and collections are safe; may respond to emergencies and assist in evacuations.
Work evenings and most holidays (The Huntington is closed to the public on July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.)
Qualifications
A high school diploma or its equivalent
Two or more years of experience in the field or in a related field that emphasizes hospitality and customer service.
CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred but not required.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent customer service skills when engaging with visitors and others on the team
Candidates should have a good understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety, outstanding surveillance and observation skills, and the ability to problem solve.
Exercise outstanding communication skills, good judgment, flexibility, integrity, and collaboration
Must be comfortable working in public setting during the COVID-19 pandemic, and must be willing and able to enforce policies as they relate to COVID-19 safety protocols
