Job Description
Thriving global investment management firm is seeking an individual to work as a Security Master Associate within its Investment Operations division at their offices in Los Angeles, CA. The candidate should have qualities to understand the operations groups' internal applications (Security Master, Front End Platform, Accounting System, and Reporting Tool). A good understanding of the synchronization and workflow of the different applications used within the operations group day to day is a must. While the major role of this candidate would be Security Master and Reference data management, a good understanding of the entire operational workflow process is recommended.
Hybrid-Remote: 3 days/week on-site
RESPONSIBILITES:
- New security set-up and ongoing maintenance of Security Master terms and conditions and UDF's across all Security Master Platforms
- Make sure new security set-ups comply with Compliance Team policies and Operations Teams to insure proper booking of assets and the Front Office regarding support of trading activities.
- Maintain Security Master Data-in of all internal Security Master Platforms (Everest, VPM, Markit EDM, Aexeo, Thinkfolio, DealCloud, TradeFlow) and understand synchronization between them.
- Create and maintain all reference data in Everest, VPM, EDM and Thinkfolio. Also, peripheral data groups: Country, Funds/Fund Groups, Currency, Security Types, Holiday Calendar, Strategies, Executing/Clearing Brokers, Issuers, Exchanges
- Complete/analyze daily and monthly collateralized loan obligation (CLO) trustee reporting for reference data inaccuracies.
- Participate in project related work to create enhancements within Security Master & Operations teams.
- Synergize daily with satellite team members to cohesively complete tasks.
EXPERIENCE:
- Ideal candidates will have experience in a few of the following areas:
- Loans (Term, Revolving, Delayed Draw, Bridge, Private/Credit Agreements)
- Bonds (Corp, Gov't, CVB, Forwards)
- Credit Default Swaps (Index, Tranche, Single Name)
- Equities (Stock, Depository Receipts, ETF's)
- Forward Currency Contract, Spots
- Options (FX, Index, Equity, IRS/CDX, OTC)
- Interest Rate Swap
- Spread Locks
- Total Return/Equity Swaps
- Mortgage-Backed Securities
- Knowledge of Security Master and Reference data
- Experience with offshore or satellite teams is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2-6 years of relevant experience
- Must be comfortable communicating with traders and portfolio managers
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Bloomberg and rating agencies (S&P, Moody's, Fitch, DBRS, Kroll) experience a plus
- VPM, Everest, Markit Partners, Thinkfolio, Eigen and EDM experience is a plus
- Project management experience is a plus
- Multi-task and demonstrate a high learning aptitude
- Must naturally operate with a sense of urgency with high work ethic
- Must be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Appreciation of data quality, completeness, and controls
- Demonstrated experience in process improvements
- Collaborative approach but also self-starter and driven
- Must be detail oriented, organized, and can work both independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, deadline driven, high-risk environment.
