JOB SUMMARY:Security Lieutenants are ordinarily assigned to manage the day to day operations but may be assigned additional duties by the Chief of Security. A Security Manager, subject to the direction by the VP of Security or Director of Security, shall be responsible for planning, directing, controlling, and coordinating all activities within the department or assigned shift. The Security Lieutenant is responsible for the entire security function and overall supervision of all Security Officers and Supervisors. To this end, the Security Lieutenant will establish priorities, maintain follow-up to ensure adherence to schedules and work standards, report all security matters to the Chief of Security, supervise, plan, and schedule security activities on a daily basis.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·The Security Lieutenant will assist the Chief of Security with the administration duties of the Department and assist with the implementation of the department's programs. The Security Lieutenant will follow the directives as set forth in the policies and procedures manual to ensure the effective and efficient operation of all shifts or assigned shift.

·The Security Lieutenant acts as the primary contact between the shift Lieutenants and the Chief of Security. In this capacity, the Security Lieutenant implements the written and verbal directives of the Chief of Security.

·The Security Lieutenant will be responsible for department’s function and personnel, reports, equipment and supplies necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the Security Department, and other tasks assigned by the Chief of Security.

·The Security Lieutenant will oversee the safeguarding of the Contract properties, Employees, citizens and other items of value on ay premises from preventable harm or danger.

·Efficiently manages personnel and resources ensuring that all Policies and Procedures are followed completely.

·Ensures all reports and correspondence are properly completed in a timely manner throughout the Department.

·Answers telephones using the proper telephone etiquette and dispatches to the appropriate departments.

·Maintain PFI marked/unmarked vehicles through checks and vehicle logs.

·Respond to backup requests from Security Officers in the field. • Complete security checks throughout the assigned jurisdiction.

·Checks scheduled shifts for any personnel issues.

·Controls responding forces and handles emergencies using the proper method, while simultaneously using the correct safety procedures.

·Sets standards, trains and evaluates subordinates in a consistent and tactful manner.

·Performs all duties of a Security SGT (Supervisor) as needed.

·Determines personnel requirements on a daily basis to accommodate property peak hours.

·Manages entire Security staff assigned to shift.

·Oversees roll call and make assignments at the beginning of shift.

·Continually evaluates subordinates for alertness, appearance and proper performance of duties

·Checks all reports for accuracy and completeness.

·Reports all unsafe conditions which have been identified to the Chief of Security.

·Briefs the Chief on all matters that should be called to the Chief's attention.

·Briefs the Chief of Security on all incidents and any pertinent information occurring on the previous shift.

·Responds to all major incidents or incidents for criminal activity.

·Renders assistance to other Security Command staff.

·Schedules personnel for special events.

·Schedules vacations and any replacements that are needed for their assigned shift.

·Verifies and approves all trespass warnings and detentions.

·Investigates complaints about Security from citizens, Management heads, etc.

·Disciplines subordinates when necessary.

·Ensures chain of command is followed, as it relates to personnel grievances or problems.

·Any and all duties and tasks delegated by the Chief of Security.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·High school graduate or equivalent is required

·4 to 5 years preferred prior supervision

·4 to 5 years employment in a security related department or law enforcement, public service or military is preferred

·Ability to manage several tasks at once

·Athorough knowledge of accepted Security procedures and NV. law.

·Teaching and/or training background preferred. • Must possess good oral and written communication skills along with a good working knowledge of basic computer programs.

·Must be able to complete the Security Academy Training.

·Must be able to obtain a CCW (Carry Concealed Weapons) permit. Successful completion of a Firearms Qualification Course is required.

·Must be able to obtain and possess a NV. PILB Card, an Alcohol Awareness Card (AES), and have a current and valid Nevada Driver's License.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

·Must be able to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes in heat in excess of 115 degrees, or cold as low as 10 degrees.

·Must be able to physically restrain individuals when a condition of arrest exists.

·Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations and be able to make rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues.

·Must be able to work independently.

·Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.

·Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds. Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.

·Must be able to see and, also, remember the specific details of incidents and persons.

·Must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports.

·The Security Officer must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

·Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.

·Must be able to work outside a normal schedule, as needs arise.

Pay: Starting at $25 an hour based on experience
