ResponsibilitiesThis role serves as a Surveillance Operator in the Surveillance Operation Center. Primary responsibilities include:
- Utilizes electronic security systems, motion, sound, and door sensors and computerized alarm systems, access control points, closed circuit video systems, two-way radios, fire and weather monitoring systems, and computers. Monitors multiple telephone lines and radio frequencies.
- Monitors conditions on campus and communicates important information with the appropriate personnel.
- Dispatches security personnel to respond and/or investigate to safety and security concerns.
- Maintains the daily activity Security Operations Log and ensures that system journals are electronically backed-up.
- Follows the Ringling Security Operating Guidelines.
As needed:
- Assists in training new Surveillance Operators.
- Patrols the campus and guards against theft, vandalism and other occurrences, potential or actual, which could result in loss or damage to the collection.
- Prepares written reports of accidents, incidents, and general conditions.
- Assists in execution of emergency plans concerning evacuation of venues in the event of fire, disasters, or other emergency situations.
- Assists individuals involved in accidents or when injured on campus.

- High level of attention to detail and ability to focus for long periods of time

Skills
- Valid Driver's License or ability to obtain prior to hire
- Please note, a driver's permit is not acceptable
- Within the first twelve months in the position, the incumbent must have completed all required training including but not limited to: First Aid Certification, Blood-borne Pathogens Training, Weather Spotter Certification, FEMA Online Incident Command System courses IS 235 and 240, and Basic Campus Fire Suppression System Training. All training provided by The Ringling.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM with a half hour meal period. The incumbent may be required to work a flexible schedule including days, weekends, special events, and holidays.
