The Security Guard will maintain overall safety and order of the clinic facility. The Security Guard is to secure the perimeter of the treatment center. Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Essential Job Functions
- Control access to the facility and operate security-controlled equipment to monitor activities in the facility; inform violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
- Patrols and monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to local authorities
- Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors facility
- Provides constant monitoring of vehicular and pedestrian traffic in and out of the facility
- Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency and/or as needed
- After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure
- Respond to all security and safety related calls in a timely manner, and adhere to all the security department’s performance, conduct, and attendance guidelines.
- Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property
- Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises
- Maintains written log of all security related incidents and their dispositions.
- Maintains required Security Guard attire at all times, including name badge and paraphernalia that identifies you as a Security Guard.”.
- Reports critical incidents that occur in parking lot or on premise
- Eliminates loitering and congregating in the parking lot and premises.
- Deescalates threatening or violent situations while ensuring that the use of force of physicality is not used on patients or others on the premises
- Contacts local authorities, as needed.
- Maintains a courteous and helpful demeanor towards all customers, clients, and staff
- Exhibit exemplary conduct and appearance while on duty, interact with patrons, vendors and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ensures minimal noise in the parking lot and on premises
- Maintains a safe environment

- Interacting and communicating with clients in a professional and courteous manner

Secondary Functions

· Will be expected to participate in on-call hours, as scheduled

The Security Guard must be able to prioritize situations and manage time and may find that they are needed at irregular hours causing fatigue and stress. The Security Guard may experience stress and stress related symptoms due to interacting with clients in recovery. S/he may be exposed to illness and unsanitary conditions so must take care to protect their own health. They may also have to manage physically threatening clients and be prepared to be responsible for their own safety, and the safety of others.
Work Environment
The employee is expected to adhere to strict policies/regulations relative to being in a tobacco and alcohol free workplace. Work is performed in an office setting, but on feet most of the day patrolling facility.
Qualifications
· GED or High School Diploma.
· Three (3) years of experience working as building security with at least one (1) year experience within a substance use treatment facility or healthcare setting
· Must have 8 hour and 16 Security Guard License by State of New York
· NYS Registration as a Security Guard
