Our new Security Engineer will help to:
- Evaluate, deploy, and sustain a wide range of security tools & services across multiple functional areas to help ensure compliance with security policies, and standards.
- Evaluate technical and administrative controls, evaluate for gaps, and work to fix them.
- Automate manual processes, enabling staff to focus on what matters most.
- Draft security standards and procedures, document solutions, and develop training aids, as well as training to department staff.
- Partner with other IT (Information Technology) functional areas to remain apprised of project and available technology status and inform customer management of progress.
- Maintain a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline supporting InfoSec Automation.
- Participate in incident response activities as subject matter expert supporting security tools & services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Engineering experience supporting one or more security domains to include vulnerability management, secure configuration, cloud security, device security, identity, and access management, and/or data protection.
- Experience automating using tools/languages such as Python or PowerShell, as well as experience automating against vendor APIs.
- A strong sense of ownership of assigned responsibilities, and capacity towards becoming the senior most SME of their area of focus, willingness to step into new areas of responsibility and cross train as necessary.
- Foundational knowledge of control frameworks and industry standards available from NIST and Center for Internet Security.
- Knowledge of cyber security threats and techniques used by adversaries to compromise computer systems and applications.
- Exposure to source code management tools and methodologies such as Git, GitHub or Gitlab.
- Experience interacting and managing with security service providers (managing support tickets, providing product feedback, requesting product enhancements, etc.)
- The ability to work proactively across a geographically distributed team, ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently, and someone who will seek to understand and work through conflict.
Suggested Experience and Education
Cybersecurity Engineer III would have 5 years of experience and a bachelor's degree in an IT related field or a minimum of 5- 8 years of experience working in cybersecurity roles. Security certifications are also valued to include but not limited to:
- ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or related
- Microsoft SC, AZ, or DP certifications
- ISC2 Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
Work Environment
- No unusual working conditions or regular on call rotation
- May be required to work outside normal working hours at times.
- We work in a hybrid environment.
The expected hiring range for a Security Engineer is $107,000 - $145,000 depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; performance history; and work location. The bonus target for this position is 15% . The current full salary range for this role is $100,500 - $164,000
