Security Desk Officer

The Security Desk Officerstaffs the 24/7 Security Desk at Carnegie Hall. The Security Desk Officer is instrumental in ensuring the security and safety of our esteemed venue. Security Desk Officers are required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, serving as the primary security presence backstage.
Your responsibilities include:

• Greet and check in artist, managers, production staff, and other backstage visitors, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols
• Monitor our closed-circuit television (CCTV) system, promptly responding to any alerts or security breaches
• Remotely lock and unlock doors in accordance with established security protocols to manage access within the venue
• Monitor NYPD Alerts and various news outlets to provide timely information to the Director, Manager, and Supervisor regarding any neighborhood activity of concern
• Serve as Building Evacuation Supervisor with the ability to respond to Fire Alarms pending the arrival of the FLSD on duty to the Fire Control Panel
• Fill in for the Building Patrol Officer and supplement Security Performance Guards as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and otherwise provide good customer service
• Ability and willingness to periodically work flexible hours related to major events
• The ability to serve as Building Evacuation Supervisor, with the potential to become a certified Fire Life Safety Director and/or background as first-responder with potential to operate in these capacities
• NYS Security Guard license
• F-03 Fire Guard License
• CPR certification
• Integrity, reliability, and confidentiality
