Summary:
The Crime Prevention Coordinator provides prevention activities, education, training, interpreting crime trends statistics, develops, and oversees the delivery of the security support programs. Programs include, weapons detections, investigations, education, crisis intervention teams, and advanced analytics. The Crime Prevention Coordinator develops strategies to further the goals of the physical security program through security support programs. The Crime Prevention Coordinator deploys countermeasures, investigates and educates workplace violence programs to staff members. The Crime Prevention Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development of a Crime Prevention programs for individual departments, as well as the entire system to ensure adequate security measures are in place.
Responsibilities:
*Provides training and refresher knowledge to create a culture of nonviolence, assessing and mitigating Workplace Violence (WPV) risk factors, assigning in workplace violence prevention programs, continuously train and staff on WPV mitigation.
*Under the direction and in collaboration with the Security leadership, oversees the design and implementations of security training courses to include classroom, self-studies, computer-based, and web-based training as appropriate.
*Monitors the training program to ensure security staff competency in all aspects of training, including attendance records, measured performance of security staff during training and the effectiveness of the training.
*Provides reports to security leadership on training conducted, performance of personnel, and effectiveness of training.
*Offers recommendations for improving the training curriculum. In collaboration with security leadership, evaluates the performance of security staff in the field as it relates to the adherence to training protocols and department policies and procedures during real world situations. In collaboration with security leadership, oversee programs and staff to include weapons detections, investigations, education, crisis intervention teams, and advanced analytics.
*The Crime Prevention Coordinator develops strategies to further the goals of the physical security program through security support programs. In collaboration with security leadership, conducts investigations regarding incidents occurring on Children's property and reviewing the results of these investigations with appropriate department heads, while working closely with human recourses, compliance and legal.
*As directed by security leadership, reviews use of force incidents to ensure consistency with policy, procedures, and department training.
*Conducts training needs assessments through review and analysis of training programs, assessment of the security operation, and interviews with stakeholders.
*Monitors the threat environment, developments in training delivery, and research regarding adult training programs to identify strategies for maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of the security training program. Contribute to the review, maintenance, and updating of department policies and procedures.
*Participates in the hiring and onboarding for new security department personnel. Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; adheres to Children's Health policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
*Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
This is a full-time position working an open and available schedule.
You may be required to float occasionally to other Children's Health locations including Dallas, Plano and THD Clinics.(Start time hours can be discussed during interviews)
WORK EXPERIENCE
*At least 5 years related experience (i.e. Customer service, healthcare, hospitality, security, law enforcement or military.) Req
*At least 1 year in staff development, training, and/or teaching experience. Req
*At least 1 year Law Enforcement, Adult Education/Police Instructor, Crime/Data Analytics, Justice Information Systems or Learning Management Systems. Req
EDUCATION
*Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Criminal Justice, Sociology, Criminology, Police Science, Law, Philosophy, History, Art History, Humanities or related field.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Texas Department of Public Safety - Texas Private Security Bureau Registration - Non Commissioned Security Officer training and certification within 6 months of employment. Req
* Valid, current Texas Department of Public Safety Driver's License upon employment Req
* Pediatric Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior (PPMAB) training and renewed according to standard 60 Days, Req
* Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements60 Days, Req
* International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety organization. Effective 11/13/2020 new employees must obtain this certification within 180 days of hire. Existing employees must obtain this certification by 6/1/2021. 180 Days Req
