The team is searching for cybersecurity professionals to support the 48th Cyberspace Test Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. This position will serve as a Security Control Assessor (SCA) for designated programs. The SCA performs and provides risk-based security assessments to support Authorizing Official (AO) authorization determinations. The SCA is the liaison between the AO and the program office, providing professional level cybersecurity guidance and support to the program office for designated systems. The SCA assesses the cyber risk and recommends to the AO mitigations (e.g. Security Controls) to consider addressing any identified risk areas.
We are looking for professionals with a cyber-background, who have strength in DoD RMF Security Control validation; SCA duties; or Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and or Information System Security Manger (ISSM) responsibilities. Also, technical understanding of information technologies like Windows, Red Hat, Cisco, Databases, DISA STIGs, STIG Viewer, ACAS, and other cyber security assessment tools. Certification in one of the listed areas is desired. Position responsibilities can span from Security Control compliance assessments, project management, and technical compliance testing depending on skillset.
This position provides cybersecurity support directly to the 48th Cyberspace Test Squadron at Eglin AFB, FL. This support includes the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Security Control Assessor for supported Authorizing Officials (AOs).
•Execute independent Security Control Validation for Air Force Systems.
•Coordinate independent compliance assessments, data collection, and reporting.
•Utilizing cyber test tools and developing strategies for cybersecurity validation in DoD, Air Force and Space Force systems.
•Perform system security analysis on systems and/or software to understand and identify cyber vulnerabilities.
•Provide technical validation guidance and cybersecurity expertise to test teams and the customer.
•Document and communicate test results effectively to technical and non-technical user groups in both written and oral formats.
•Brief the AO on the status of the assigned systems and provide authorization recommendations.
•Evaluate the impact of new technologies on current systems and policies.
•Review and evaluate the security impact of system changes, including interfacing with other automated systems.

Required Experience
Required Experience:
One of the following combinations of education and experience:
    • PhD in a technical discipline with 8-12 years of relevant technical experience
    • Masters degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Test Engineering (or equivalent) and over 10-12 years of relevant technical experience in the field of cybersecurity, aircraft/weapons system, and/or IT systems
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Test Engineering (or equivalent) and 18 years in the field of cybersecurity, aircraft/weapons system, and/or IT systems
    • High school diploma or equivalent and 22-24 years in the field of cybersecurity, aircraft/weapons system, and/or IT systems

•Knowledge in the Cybersecurity Assess and Authorize (A&A) process to support DoD acquisition programs through the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
•Analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
•Good organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.
•Excellent self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
•Ability to work effectively in small and large team settings to solve complex problems.
•Occasional travel may be required.
•US Citizenship: Ability to obtain an interim DoD Secret clearance prior to start date and obtain a final Top Secret (Single Scope Background Investigation) at the completion of the government's process.
•Must have or be able to obtain DOD 8570 IAT Level 3 certification (CASP, CISSP, etc.) within 6 months of hire, and maintain certification throughout employment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
•Active and current DoD Secret or DoD Top Secret security clearance highly desired.
•Current DOD 8570 IAT Level 3 certification (CASP, CISSP, etc.) highly desired.
•Experience in SCA, ISSO, or ISSM duties.
•Experience using tools like eMASS, DISA STIG Viewer, DISA STIGs.
•Understanding of cybersecurity testing
•Understanding of Windows and Linux Operating System.
•Understanding of network security/engineering.
•Understanding of DevSecOps environment.
•Understanding of assessing cloud-based enterprise(s).
•Understanding of ACAS, NESSUS, and NMap
