Job Summary

Works under supervision and follows established procedures. Reviews electronic Security Clearance applications for completeness and enters employee security data into the government Electronic Personnel Security Questionnaire (EPSQ) software program for transmittal to the Defense Security Service. Key resource in the overall process of granting Security Clearance to personnel in the organization as dictated by business need. Provides fingerprinting services to all personnel at the corporate location and in the field as requested. Safeguards DoD sensitive and TriWest confidential materials. Compiles reports and statistics for senior management and the organization for government reporting. Corresponds with representatives and/or Office of Personnel Management (OPM), TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) or Department of Hearing and Appeals (DOHA) agents regarding project issues, personnel clearance, cleared facilities, and other security matters. Provides management with interpretation of the TRICARE Operations Manual to ensure compliance with government projects and updates the organization's standard practice procedures when appropriate.

Works closely with management in reviewing government contract compliance for personnel occupying positions requiring access to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).


Education & Experience

Required:
  • High School Degree or GED Must be a US Citizen
  • Possess an active Secret-level clearance or have the ability to obtain one
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • 3 years of experience processing clearance documentation and managing sensitive personal data, or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years security or information systems experience in a small to mid-size organization working with all levels of employees within the organization
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive credentialing processes for healthcare providers and/or government customers.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand specific credentialing requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Provide delegated credentialing oversight and auditing, ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Security experience in the US Government, DoD, or contractor community.
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in personnel security and an understanding of DoD Investigative and Adjudicative Guidance for Issuing Common Access Cards (CAC).
  • Review Standard Form questionnaires for completeness and accuracy.
  • Administer routine aspects of industrial security programs to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures.
  • Identify gaps in team skills and remediating gaps in the line with strategy.
  • Develop new services, or update existing services, in line with customer insights and need.
  • Build and maintain tracking spreadsheets/databases for PERSEC activities.
  • Ensuring all staff have appropriate training completed.

  • Processes personnel background investigations for special Security Clearance actions. DISS, NBIS, e-QIP, NISS and fingerprinting (use of fingerprinting system/software and SWFT).
  • Verify clearance levels in DISS and perform various tasks in conjunction with processing applicants for initial background check.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of credentialing activities.
  • Engage with an influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create a proactive and positive working environment.

*Annual base salary for Colorado and Washington State residents: $64,000 - $71,000 depending on experience*
