The GME Security team is looking for a customer-focused, detail oriented, experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team. This team is responsible for building solutions to help internal teams visualize security and program health.
Working within our existing Security and Compliance team, you'll collaborate closely with Application Security and partner with leaders across software engineering teams to continually refine how we present risk metrics to the organization. This is a role that will have visibility across the business at all levels, and within a team that will support you in delivering high impact from Day 1. You will dive deep into data, find trends, highlight areas needing action, and improve the security posture of amazon by helping service teams and security engineers focus on the most important problems to fix. You will use both industry standard tools and custom tools to analyze and process data of variety and volume. You will build automated reports and graphical representations of data at scale which will drive business decisions and prioritization across GME.
Key job responsibilities
- Provides robust BI solutions for complex problems, that are extensible and scalable.
- Develop interactive and intuitive visualizations of point-in-time reporting and trending data.
- Understand high-level security and compliance objectives and continually enhance analysis and reporting to support those objectives.
- Refine data strategies that cut across functional teams and make technical trade-off decisions for long term/short-term needs.
- Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon's data resources and know how, when, and which to use to solve for our user stories.
- Have a conversational understanding of the data used in reporting, how it is sourced, and be able to explain the data limitations and caveats to our internal customers.
- Make recommendations of how to increase or calibrate existing data visualizations
- Drives best practices in operational excellence, data modelling, and analysis. Ensure that BI solutions are correctly and efficiently supporting the business.
- Writes high quality code to retrieve and analyze data and build data visualizations to tell the story of business trends, patterns, and outliers through rich visualizations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- 2+ years experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large data sets
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
- Independently lead and execute E2E insight projects, including asking the right questions, managing complex datasets, iterating on findings, and providing strategic guidance and recommendations to the business.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working directly with business and security stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience with AWS technologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
