Job Summary A
The Safety Monitor provides non-judgmental supervision, leadership, and support services to guests experiencing homelessness and utilizing the interim and crisis housing beds. The Safety Monitor is alert to possible conflicts or safety issues and works to de-escalate when appropriate.
Essential Functions:
· Ensure that all persons on the property are enrolled in services with LTHC.
· Monitor the behavior of the guests at LTHC.
· Monitor vehicle traffic entering and leaving properties.
· Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are upheld and followed.
· Communicate regularly with Guest Services/Shelter staff regarding suspicious activity.
· Educate staff and guests on safety procedures.
· Consult with supervisor on needed changes or additions to safety procedures.
· Monitor security cameras to ensure guest safety.
· Contribute to a safe, dignified, respectful atmosphere by enforcing program rules, policies, and procedures in a kind and respectful way.
· Conduct regular rounds of facility and interact with clients in a positive manner.
· Provide any necessary proactive crisis interventions.
· Identify and ensure proper and timely documentation/notification of any safety concerns, emergencies, situations or general maintenance needs of the facility and grounds to ensure compliance with any and all safety, regulatory and health standards.
· Submit reports to management, as needed, using daily logs, forms, google drive, email, and phone calls
· Meet the physical demands of the position: stay awake during any assigned shift, lift approximately 30 pounds, use a standard phone and computer, and work independently
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
