Role Overview
The Secondary Marketing Trader is responsible for identifying, executing, and managing risk positions in the secondary market. You will leverage your financial analysis skills, market knowledge, and trading instincts to optimize margin certainty and contribute to the team’s overall success.
Essential Duties
In addition to related job duties as assigned, this position will:
Market Research:
- Monitor market spreads activity to ensure pricing accuracy.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential opportunities by analyzing market color and trends.
- Maintain market awareness of relevant news, regulations, and events that may impact trading strategies.
Trade Execution:
- Execute trades efficiently and cost-effectively, negotiating the best possible terms with counterparties.
- Ensure adherence to position limits and policy guidelines.
- Develop and implement trading strategies tailored to specific market conditions and company objectives.
Pipeline Management:
- Monitor and maintain internal and external hedging platforms for accuracy and performance.
- Work closely with analysts to update pull through and hedge ratio assumptions.
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge
- 3+ years of experience in secondary market trading and hedging
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Market knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Bloomberg Terminal and other trading platforms.
Physical Requirements
- Stationary position; prolonged periods at a desk and working on the computer.
- Occasional movement about inside the office to walk to offices and office machinery.
- Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.
