POSITION: SECONDARY DRAMA/SPEECH TEACHER
LOCATION: FITZSIMMONS MIDDLE SCHOOL/PLATTE CANYON HIGH SCHOOL
SCHEDULE: Board approved 2024-2025 academic calendar. Starts August 2, 2024 (4 day week)

SALARY: Per Board approved 2023-2024 Licensed salary schedule.
Initial placement on salary schedule is based upon highest degree earned, college credits earned after highest degree earned, and up to 10 years previous experience in related field.
Annual pay is divided equally by 12 months and paid monthly on the last business day of the month.
BENEFITS: Eligible for PERA Retirement Plan
Sick/Personal days earned at 1 day for every 20 days worked
Licensed Emergency Leave Bank

QUALIFICATIONS: Quality preparation in the area of theater and speech
Colorado Teaching License with appropriate endorsement
First Aid and CPR Certificate or ability to obtain oneAbility to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and administration.
Professional experience in Speech and/or Drama will be strongly considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES: We are seeking to hire a teacher who will provide high-quality instruction in the subject areas of Drama/Theater and Speech.
Minimally, the successful candidate will additionally either direct student theatrical performances (minimum of two per year) and/or coach our forensics/speech
team at the high school level.
The opportunity exists to do both, if the successful candidate wishes to do so. Additional stipends accompany these assignments.
As a classroom teacher, our minimum expectations are that the successful candidate proficiently assesses student progress and achievement.
Uses that assessment data to diagnose and remedy weaknesses, and exhibits excellent classroom management skills which enhance learning.
