Sheltair Aviation is Seeking a skilled and experienced Second-in-Command (SIC) pilot with a minimum of 2000 flight hours. The ideal candidate will have a robust concept of customer service as customer care is not just a job here at Sheltair, it is a passion.

Responsibilities include executing pre-flight and post-flight procedures to include but not limited to removal of any debris, catering, coffee etc., maintaining effective communication with air traffic control, and ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers. The SIC should be proficient in handling various in-flight scenarios and adhering to FAA and company regulations. A commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and a continuous pursuit of excellence in aviation is essential for this role.
Second-in-Command (SIC) Job Duties:

  • Flight Operations Support: Assist the Captain in all aspects of flight operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient execution of pre-flight and post-flight procedures.
  • Communication Coordination: Maintain clear and effective communication with air traffic control, ground personnel, and other relevant parties to ensure safe and coordinated flight activities.
  • Safety Oversight: Uphold and prioritize safety protocols and procedures, actively contributing to the creation of a secure and hazard-free environment for passengers and crew.
  • Navigation and Systems Management: Demonstrate proficiency in navigating the aircraft, monitoring systems, and addressing any deviations or malfunctions promptly and effectively.
  • Crew Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with the captain and other crew members, fostering a positive and cohesive working environment within the cockpit.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to assist in emergency situations, following established protocols and contributing to decisive and effective decision-making.
  • Passenger Interaction: Ensure the comfort and well-being of passengers by addressing their needs professionally and providing relevant information before, during and after each flight.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on and adhere to aviation regulations, company policies, and industry standards, ensuring compliance throughout all flight and ground operations.
  • Continuous Training and Development: Engage in ongoing training and development activities to enhance skills, stay current with industry advancements, and contribute to personal and professional growth.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of flight hours, activities, and any incidents, adhering to regulatory and company requirements.
  • Decision Support: Provide valuable input to the Captain, offering insights and assistance in decision-making processes related to flight planning, weather conditions, and route adjustments.
  • Professionalism: Exhibit a high level of professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to upholding the reputation of Sheltair and the aviation industry.

Requirements
  • Must Hold an ATP certificate with appropriate category and class ratings.
  • Must hold an instrument rating.
  • Minimum 2000 flight hours logged.
  • First Class medical
  • Valid US Passport
  • Valid Driver's License
  • CE 560XLType Rating Preferred
  • Must live within 1 hour of KFLL.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check following FAA and DOT guidelines.
  • Must be able to pass a background screening.
  • Must not have any aviation incidents.
