Description
Long Hill, Stevens-Coolidge House and Gardens, and The Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate, public gardens and Trustees of Reservations properties in Beverly, North Andover and Canton are very excited to announce the return of our very popular event, Halloween on the Hill, and Winter Lights! The stunning grounds of Long Hill will be filled with autumnal delights including uniquely carved pumpkins, stunning light displays and beautiful fall foliage. The same is true for Stevens-Coolidge and Bradley with exciting and transformational holiday light displays that we call Winter Lights. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a traveling team that helps design, install and deinstall these shows.
For Long Hill: As part of this event, we are seeking several freelance artists to help us carve several hundred pumpkins (mostly fake) in a range of styles and to support the design and creation of various Halloween sets. The selected candidates will work directly with the Managing Director of Signature Events and the Associate Director of Events. The work schedule is flexible. We are happy to work with your availability! Ideally, we will put together a 4-person team that will work the same schedule and support each other.
For Stevens-Coolidge and Bradley: you will hang lights and help to design the light shows that adorn the properties. We create interactive elements, wrap trees, create custom overhead installations, and transform the properties into magical Winter Wonderlands.
Essential Functions:
  • Travel from site to site, designing, installing and deinstalling all the shows
  • Carve as many pumpkins as your hands can handle
  • Wrap as many trees and branches as you can
  • Support set design through physical work such as moving straw bales, assembling decorations, putting up lights and using your creativity
  • Bring a fun spirit
  • Able to commit to all shifts/times (30+hrs/week)
  • Ability to work nights and weekends (as needed)

Qualifications
  • Fun Attitude
  • Nimble hands for carving and hanging
  • Artistic skill at creating elaborate pumpkin/light designs
  • Available transportation to the multiple sites
  • No fear of heights/ladders (not required)
  • Ability to lift 15-20 pounds.
  • Prior supervisory experience (for supervisor role)

Compensation
This is a paid position of $22/per hour. There is also a supervisor role available for $27/hr. All materials / tools required will be supplied.
About The Trustees

We are a non-profit conservation organization funded and supported entirely by our visitors, supporters, volunteers, and our 100,000 Member households.
Our seasonal staff plays an integral role in ensuring that our visitors enjoy our extraordinary places. Every season brings an influx of visitors of all ages and backgrounds who want to explore and be inspired by our properties. Sandy beaches, wooded trails, cultural gardens, historic homes, community supported agriculture-there are many ways for visitors to discover and explore The Trustees, and just as many opportunities for seasonal employees to make each visitor's experience special.
