Duties & Responsibilities (Major):
- Must be able to maintain and perform all aspects of the department machinery operations as well as tasks in producing, packing and shipping rice food products. May include driving a lift truck or other powered equipment.
- Troubleshooting and program modifications of robotic machinery.
- Maintain instrumentation and PLC’s on plant equipment. Understand or successfully complete training on basic PLC programming/ladder logic.
- Must become knowledgeable of the department machine operations and functions.
- Performs prescribed preventive maintenance on equipment per the P.M. charts.
- Follow all food safety, legal, quality, process control policies and regulations.
- Maintain required company records and forms. Report any defective materials or questionable conditions to the Production Supervisor.
- Assist in leading and directing work tasks of other department employees.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands (Typical):
- Standing for extended periods
- Stooping, bending and kneeling occasionally
- Close visual work on PC and controls, determine detail, able to distinguish colors
- Able to wear required PPE
- Work extended shifts and weekends as needed.
- Climb to various levels in the facility using ladders
- Able to routinely lift 50 pounds without assistance; disassemble/reassembly equipment.
Work Environment (Typical):
- Plant production areas; including inside and outside the plant; not air conditioned. Uneven walking surfaces.
- Exposed to dust, rotating equipment, hot surfaces, sub-freezing and cold storage areas, noise, wet floors and moving lift equipment.
Education & Experience (Minimum Required):
- Three years successful machine operating experience in a modern industrial facility.
- High school graduate or GED; must be able to communicate effectively in English.
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Previous experience in food or chemical industry preferred.
- Successfully complete the Career Readiness Certifications through the Arkansas Workforce Development.
