Seasonal Log Yard Laborer

Weyerhaeuser is currently recruiting for seasonal laborers in our MDF (medium density fiberboard) plant in Columbia Falls, MT. If you are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic with the ability to work independently, then this position is for you! This position is full-time and is scheduled to work weekdays (Monday - Friday) through March 2024. The position is assigned to our Log Yard and the responsibilities include assisting the outside truck dump operator during the winter months with light clean up duties, such as:
Hourly rate: $24.12
Key Functions

• Shoveling materials that spill over bins and trucks, primarily of sawdust and woodchips.
• Ability to work completely outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Assist chip truck drivers breaking up frozen sawdust and wood chips in the bottom of truck trailers.
• Snow removal and salting, as needed, to keep the Log Yard safe and operational.
• Total commitment to working safely and following all safety rules and regulations.
• Communicating with team members and leadership to improve safety and operating performance as well as meet job expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Resume detailing education and work history is preferred
• Exhibit good performance, safety and attendance record
• Willingness and ability to learn new jobs and skills
• Good communication skills
• Must be team-oriented
• Willingness and ability to wear all required personal protective equipment
• Able to perform basic math and basic computer skills
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, which includes climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, stooping, bending and exertion of more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds frequently, and/or more than 20 pounds continuously to move objects.
• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
