Job Description and Duties

The Department of Justice, Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse (DMFEA) is looking for a Seasonal Clerk that can exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and professionalism in the performance of a variety of duties, providing light clerical and administrative assistance to DMFEA staff.
Under the supervision of an Investigative Auditor IV Supervisor or Special Agent-in-Charge, the Seasonal Clerk will provide assistance to the Investigations and Prosecutions Sections as needed. The incumbent will also act as the front-desk receptionist, performing basic receptionist duties and providing clerical support to DMFEA staff members. Duties include, but are not limited to: entering and processing records using various computer software programs; typing, editing, and revising documents; alphabetizing and filing documents; scheduling appointments, meetings, and conference calls; scheduling and arranging conference rooms; setting up of conference rooms; preparing for interviews, meetings, or other office functions; assisting with clerical and coordinating functions related to special reports, office events, and projects; answering a multi-line telephone; taking concise and detailed messages; directing visitors to appropriate staff or office; escorting vendors; and completing daily courier/mail sorting and distribution.
