Furniture Management Solutions is a family-owned business located in Indianapolis, IN. We are a small, close-knit group of people who enjoy sewing and reupholstering furniture for our customers. We are looking for a seamstress to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience sewing and is open to learning new techniques and working in a fast paced environment. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail oriented, and has the ability to work well under pressure. This position requires an individual who can work well in a team environment, as well as independently. The hours are Monday-Friday from 7am-3:30pm with no nights or weekends. Compensation is dependent on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Sew using proper seam techniques and materials such as cotton jersey, denim, wool, and other fabrics as appropriate. Sewing machines such as sergers, weft looms, or hand-weaving machines are not required but preferred. You must be comfortable using manual sewing tools such as needles and scissors to thread thread through holes in fabric. You will be expected to maintain the quality of the finished product by following proper stitching techniques and measuring tape when cutting fabric. You must be able to measure tape when cutting seams to ensure that all measurements match up accurately.
