Seafood Clerk
Duties:
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their seafood selections and answering any questions they may have
- Receive, inspect, and store seafood deliveries to ensure freshness and quality
- Prepare and package seafood products for display, including filleting, scaling, and portioning
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the seafood department, including the display cases and storage areas
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating products, and conducting regular product checks for freshness
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operation of the seafood department
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred
- Knowledge of meat cutting techniques is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage and assist customers in a friendly manner
- Proficient knife skills for cutting and preparing seafood products
- Familiarity with food handling and safety regulations in the food industry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
