If you love high profile and challenging programing projects supporting the US Navy - Serco has a great opportunity for you!  This Senior Systems Engineer position will be on a dynamic team, reviewing, developing, and providing instruction in Combat Systems-related curricula to Sailors at SCSTC Dahlgren, VA.   Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our Sailors.

 

Serco supports the US Navy and SCSTC Dahlgren developing and delivering training for US Navy Combat Systems. Our team maintains and manages the training programs ensuring the safety of the Sailors and to allowing them to perform their missions successfully.

 

You will be part of a team working closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems.  Rick Shute [www.linkedin.com/in/rickshute] leads this team with over 35 years' experience and is a Navy veteran.

 

You will be involved with developing technical courses to meet training needs and delivering training to end-users

  • Analyze recommended changes and determine impact on system readiness and user functionality
  • Conducts training needs assessment, vendor selection and evaluation of training programs making changes to the curriculum and course content as appropriate
  • Maintain up-to-date technical resource library
Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you must have:

  • An Active SECRET security clearance
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or similar with 5 years of experience 
    • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for additional 5 years applicable work experience. 
  • 8 years' experience as an AEGIS Computer Network Technician (ACNT)
  • Experience in the design operation and/or maintenance of complex U.S. Combat Systems
  • Demonstrated experience in the analysis of recommended changes and in determining the impact on system readiness and user functionality
  • Experience in reading design documents, evaluating high level interface block diagrams, evaluating commercial equipment, part task trainer emulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to travel 10% 

Preferred skills

  • US Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) certification highly preferred
