Hours: 9am - 6pm, Monday to Friday (flexibility required for project deadlines)
Reports To: Head Screen Printer / Production Manager
As a Screen Printer's Assistant at IGG, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented and dynamic team of professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional results to our clients. Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and Maintenance: Assist in setting up and maintaining screen printing machines and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Screen Preparation: Help in preparing and cleaning screens for printing, including coating, burning, and washing out screens.
- Ink Mixing and Color Matching: Assist with mixing inks and matching colors according to customer specifications.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on printed items to ensure consistency and adherence to design specifications.
- Material Handling: Prepare materials for printing, including loading and unloading of garments or other substrates onto the printing press.
- Cleaning and Organization: Responsible for cleaning ink and other materials from screens, squeegees, and machinery. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assisting with Print Jobs: Provide hands-on assistance during print runs, ensuring efficient and timely completion of projects.
- Inventory Management: Help manage inventory of supplies, inks, and printing materials, notifying the supervisor of low stock levels.
- Record Keeping: Maintain records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on each task.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the printing team to understand project requirements and deadlines. Communicate any issues or concerns promptly to the supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of screen printing processes and machinery (preferred but not required).
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good communication skills.
Training and Development:
On-the-job training will be provided to familiarize the assistant with the specific equipment and processes used in our shop.
