Scrap Metal Processor

Job Title: Processor

Responsibilities:

● Grade materials visually and with magnets

● Sort materials based on commodity grades

● Load, sort, move & feed material into processing equipment.

● Provide high level of customer service to all customers – both external and internal - and maintain ongoing interaction with external customers to their satissfaction

● Process materials from their current state using alligator shear, reciprocating saw, oxy/propane torches, and/or manual hand-tool disassembling to add additional value

● Maintain a well-organized and orderly production area by utilizing storage boxes, pallets, carts, and bins to store like-materials

● Perform daily equipment inspection notify Supervisor/Maintenance of need repairs.

● Ensure all trailers to be unloaded or loaded are secure and chocked according to company policy.

● Ensure inbound material meets company specifications.

● Work in a safety- conscious manner, following all Sullivan’s safety procedures and regulations and also reporting incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions to management.

● Empty storage containers in the appropriate collection area, while making a strong effort to sort material of higher value into their respective collection area

● All other duties, as required by management

Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent data entry skills
- Proficient in using computer systems and software applications
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
