Primary Function
Has overall responsibility for completing limited credit underwriting and performing limited analysis to identify risk in loan applications for new credit as well as servicing the existing portfolio through the Scored Loan program parameters. The incumbent in this position considers unique financial characteristics of each customer, evaluates and identifies risk. Recommends loan controls and structure to fit individual needs while controlling risk to the Association.
Essential Functions
70%
Credit Underwriting, Analysis & Decision. Assures complete credit underwriting, financial and risk analysis, documentation, and risk identification on loan applications for new credit as well as servicing existing debt. While the credit decision is based primarily on the Scored Loan program output, the independent recommendation of controls and requirement to address risk in an appropriate manner is the primary responsibility of the individual. Incumbent will Work within the parameters of the Scored Loan program to assess risk as presented in the limited financial analysis required through the scoring program. Communicates closing requirements to the relationship manager and loan processor and may make recommendations for loan-servicing plans according to the Loan Servicing Plan Policy & Procedure of the Association.
Quality & Accuracy of Work: High quality work and accuracy of work is imperative to the position, within reasonable expectations of tenure and experience. The Scored Loan Analyst should actively demonstrate a sense of pride in work and attention to detail, striving for error-free work that is relative to the current training and experience level.
Technical Analysis Skills: (Analysis, tax returns, loan servicing, and commodities)
As a Scored Loan Analyst 1, the analyst demonstrates a sound understanding of financial analysis and proficient use of system software. A sound understanding of the Scored Loan program parameters, limited financial underwriting and a working knowledge of credit policy and procedure are required. The analyst should have a working knowledge of basic loan servicing practices (releases, renewals).
The analyst demonstrates a sound working knowledge of individual tax return analysis, as well as supporting analysis required for compliance and prudent lending.
The Analyst will demonstrate a working knowledge of common commodities serviced by the Association.
Independence: Analyst should demonstrate independence in tasks as assigned with a moderate level of direct supervision, which should continue to decrease with experience and proficiency.

Communication & Teamwork. Effectively and efficiently communicates well with others in the loan making process, including but not limited to communication with Relationship Managers, Loan Processors, Member Service Representatives, and those involved in the approval process. Effective and efficient communication enhances the overall customer service experience and is critical to achieving overall Association goals.
Communication skills demonstrate ability to effectively, and efficiently convey messages in a professional manner in both oral and written delivery. Written communication skills should demonstrate the ability to present professional, effective, and concise communication. Oral communication should be effective, respectful, honest, and open. Interpersonal skills are also of importance, and should be professional and effective. The anslyst should seek guidance from mentors and supervisor when needed.

Special Projects & Development. Assists with projects as directed by Credit Administrator and/or Chief Credit Officer. Attends management recommended training and other training to develop analytical skills and lending knowledge.
Successful analyst will demonstrate incrementally increased proficiency in skills as exposure progresses. Successful analyst should also demonstrate self-motivation and self-monitoring to gain proficiency. The analyst should invest time proactively in order to become as proficient in areas which they have little experience, to expand their experience and understanding of more complex transactions and an expanded area of commodities.

Skills/Qualifications
Essential:
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Agriculture or related field preferred
- Basic knowledge of credit analysis and techniques from experience in agriculture-related work or commercial finance or educational equivalent
- Ability to work independently under general supervision
- Ability to utilize skills and knowledge to maximize customer service while maintaining satisfactory credit administration, risk analysis and meet Association goals.
- Capability to handle high stress situations in a businesslike and professional manner
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple work assignments
- Demonstrated computer proficiency and familiarity with reporting and spreadsheet applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to employ diplomacy and tact with various internal and external contacts.
- Self-starter; problem-solving & time management skills; knowledge of agriculture.
Marginal:
- Farm Credit experience.
Authority
Authorities as delegated by management may include: Delegation of Authority including Extension of Credit, Loan Servicing Actions, Denial, and Employee Committee
Security Roles
AGGeorgia Farm Credit employees are required to be both knowledgeable of, and consistently compliant with, all policies and procedures regarding security. These include, but are not limited to, the management of sensitive documents, protecting workspaces, monitoring visitors, safeguarding passwords, and the prudent and secure utilization of association e-mail and social media systems. Employees must also be fully knowledgeable of when and how to report incidents of security breaches or lapses.
Problem Solving and Decision-Making
Must demonstrate the ability to utilize sound problem solving and decision-making skills that support sound credit administration and risk management while working to achieve overall Association Goals.
Decision making skills at this level should demonstrate a working knowledge of prudent lending practice, and also demonstrate a move toward independence through seeking answers on their own before confirmation and discussion of situations. Sound decision making skills, when refined and proven, may result in recommendation for approval of delegated authority.
Supervisory Responsibility
Works under the supervision of the Credit Administrator.
