POSITION SUMMARY
The primary function of this position is operate the Score Clock and complete the score sheets for the Brentwood Hockey League. No experience necessary, will train. General hockey knowledge is preferred. Nights and weekends required. Candidates must be fully vaccinated (or in the process of becoming vaccinated against COVID-19). Must be willing to present vaccination card.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide internal and external customer service that meets or exceeds the service standards of the department. Respect all game participants, referees, patrons, and other employees.
- Report to rink at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the hockey game. Have necessary items (pucks, game score sheets, etc) prepared for the start of games.
- Know and enforce all rules and policies governing the operation of the Brentwood Hockey League, Brentwood Ice Arena and Parks and Recreation department.
- Complete hockey score sheets using information (calls, signals, and whistles) made by hockey referees, including goals scored and penalties. Keep accurate statistics.
- Ice Duties: Move the hockey nets after games for the Zamboni Driver. Assist in filling holes or ruts as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the Referees, Building Managers and the Recreation Supervisors. Report any problems to the supervisor/manager on duty.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Age 16+. Candidates should have general knowledge of hockey rules and regulations or have a general interest in hockey. Must be able to operate the Score Clock accurately and efficiently. No prior experience required, will train.
