Responsibilities
- Responsible for engineering of CAR EngTreg cell prototypes for further characterization
- Collaborate cross-functionally to design, develop and document new assays to characterize program EngTreg Leads.
- Evaluate phenotype and functionality of CAR EngTreg constructs by a variety of assays using multicolor flow cytometry.
- Stay abreast of relevant literature and act as a resource for the team
- Contribute proactively to cross-functional activities across research groups and with other departments as needed
- Communicate and present findings to scientific team and management
- Track and compile results in an electronic notebook
- Lead from the bench, including mentoring and training junior scientists
- Foster the culture of seeking and giving help, inclusion, authenticity, and fun
Qualifications & Education
- PhD in immunology, cell biology, biological engineering, chemical engineering, or related field with 0-2 years of experience or MS with 6-8 years of relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated experience in cell culture, flow cytometry and other related immune assays such as ELISA, PCR, and cell-based assays is required
- Experience in performing immune analysis and demonstrating understanding of T cell biology, functionality and regulatory T cells is preferred. Familiarity with gene editing and delivery technologies (e.g., CRISPR and viral transduction) is strongly preferred
- Previous experience with cell-based assay development, including proliferation, suppression, and MLR assays, preferred
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to execute experiments with rigor and maintain clear and complete records of lab work
- Evidence of critical thinking and the ability to devise a plan beyond the immediate experiment.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism, Flowjo, and ELN/LIMS for data entry, analysis, and presentation
- Exceptional teamwork and communication skills with the ability to embrace change and multitask in a fast-growing environment
