Make your mark for patients
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientist Iwith expertise in molecular and cellular biology to join our Discovery Biology team. The candidate will be expected to design, execute and analyze in vivo experiments to validate gene therapy targets for the treatment of genetic diseases. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of life-changing gene therapies that have the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of patients. Position will be based out of our Boston R&D Hub in Cambridge, MA.
NOTE: We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas at any point for this role.
Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Design and perform mouse studies to determine biodistribution of AAVs
- Assess AAV transduction from in vivo assays at the molecular level
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and timelines are met
- Present research findings and progress updates
Minimum Experience/Skills Required:
- Must have experience with rodents (handling, various dosing techniques, tissue collection)
- Proficiency in RNA and DNA purification, qPCR, cloning and mammalian cell culture
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and data analysis skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced and dynamic research environment
- Strong track record of research accomplishments, as evidenced by publications in high-impact journals and presentations at scientific conferences
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Expertise in molecular and cellular biology techniques, such as ddPCR, virus production and transductions, confocal microscopy, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry
- Has innate curiosity and drive for scientific research
Salary Range: $96,480 to $126,630
