Scientific Business Analyst - Protein Formulation Development

Work you will do : We are seeking a Scientific Business Analyst with strong understanding of Biotech/Pharmaceutical R&D's processes, with working experiences of delivering scientific informatics solutions. The Scientific Business Analyst will work closely with our IT team and business partners in the area of Protein Formulation Development drive innovation and deliver value added solutions.
What you will do : We expect the Scientific Business Analyst to be a multi-dimension professional to help the implementation of the Labware LIMS system which will support the Formulation Development group. The role holder will establish trusted relationship with the scientists with a passion about delivering business results. He/she needs to have in-depth domain knowledge in Biological Formulation Development, skilled at business process mapping, creating data models, eliciting and documenting business requirements, and familiar with Agile project execution methodology.

Job Responsibilities:
Business Technology Planning

• Support R&D-IT Business Relationship Managers and scientific leadership to Identify gaps in existing processes, determine disposition (major project, small project, enhancement) and provide recommendations for future process & technology improvements
• Build and maintain relationships with assigned business functional teams.
• Develop and continually strengthen deep knowledge of business and business processes for assigned areas
• Define business case, value stream, business requirements, identify trends and gaps with existing processes, and recommend projects as input into the annual planning process
• Act as a workstream lead to ensure plans for data management, maintenance and reporting meet business requirements now and for the future

Business Technology Execution

• Elicit requirements for projects and enhancements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, user stories, process models, activity diagrams and workflow analysis, and system validation package.
• Understand different types of agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements, and deliver artifacts as required by the project methodology
• Complete source to target, business rules, reporting, use process mapping and design
• Work with vendors to ensure reports, data integration and designs are efficient, scalable and contemporary
• Provide support to IT leaders in developing business benefits analysis and estimates for area of responsibility (business requirements, functional design, business processes, UAT)
• Translates requirements and processes into functional and technical data designs
• Conduct acceptance testing for data workstreams across multiple functional departments areas of support (e.g. business data integration)
• Serve as the conduit between the internal functional owner of data sources and the software development team(s) through which requirements flow and are designed, built and tested
• Provides creative solutions to data challenges, working closely with enterprise and IT teams in this space
• Ensure conceptual, functional, and technical designs will meet functional and non-functional requirements for projects and enhancements
• Understand the business processes associated with data and ensures the solutions are designed and built to meet client business requirements and long-term single source of truth and supportability
• Support end-user technology training and communications

Must Haves

• Degree in Chemistry
• Minimum 4-5 yrs. in a Lab environment
• Minimum 4-5 yrs. as a Business Analyst
• Domain knowledge in Biological Formulation Development
• Experience using Labware LIMS systems
• Experience implementing and/or configuring LIMS systems; such as configuring Labware LIMS visual workflows, analysis, projects and templates.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledgeable in business process & requirements gathering from initiation through execution
• Ability to collaborate with business functional leaders, across all levels in the business supported organization and with technologists, to define business processes, analyze operational efficiencies, implement creative solutions and measure delivery results
• Experience with critical functional data and management processes, and data integration
• Collaborative, agile mindset to drive speedy, creative and efficient use of technology and data to drive business value across IT
• Time management skills & managing master data experience a plus
• Ability to creatively and constructively challenge designs to ensure simplicity and supportability
• Capable of translating and presenting concepts into practical business terms in both small and large group settings
• Ability to analyze and document complex data management processes
• Ability to think analytically, a proactive problem solver
• Ability to interpret relevant data and information
• Create traceability matrices, test cases and test plans
• Elicit, gather, capture, analyze, document, and refine requirements
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in team settings
