Join our dynamic team in Santa Barbaraand take a central role in enhancing communication and language skills for students across various grade levels. As a School SLP, you'll have the exceptional opportunity to provide valuable guidance and support through a blend of in-person and teletherapy sessions, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment. This is a contracting position.
Responsibilities:
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive virtual assessments to identify and evaluate communication disorders in students.
- Developing personalized treatment plans and objectives tailored to address individual speech and language challenges.
- Delivering engaging teletherapy sessions to students, either one-on-one or in small groups, utilizing strategies customized to their specific needs.
- Collaborating seamlessly with teachers, parents, and school staff to implement effective communication-enhancing techniques within both in-person and virtual classrooms.
- Regularly documenting and monitoring students' progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy plans as required.
- Playing an active role in shaping Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, offering valuable insights to support students' educational plans.
Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- A valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in AL
- While preferred, the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is not always mandatory.
- Previous experience working with school-age children, particularly within an educational setting, is highly esteemed.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with students, parents, and fellow educators.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and harmoniously as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team, embracing the hybrid learning environment.
