School Security Officer

• QUALIFICATIONS:
• Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a GED. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida driver's license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age (armed position).
• Must pass background clearance.
• High School Diploma or possession of a GED.
• Possess and maintain a valid FL driver’s license.
• Ability to effectively communicate and work with others.
• Ability to work with diverse students in a school environment.
• Physically and mentally prepared to respond to emergencies, and work flexible scheduling as needed.

Training hourly rate of pay is: $19.79/hr. Upon completion of required training and certifications Hourly rate pay begins at $21.76/hr.

10-month Certified School Security Officer Annual Starting Salary: $34,119.68.

The School Security Officer is responsible for providing security and safety services and protecting the life, and well-being of students, staff, and visitors. Under general direction of a supervisor, work is performed with considerable independence. Work involves an element of personal danger and requires the exercise of considerable judgment, the application of policy and procedures and tact. Work is reviewed through observation, conferences, written reports, inspections, and evaluation of results achieved.
