Position Purpose
To provide the culminating year-long internship experience to individuals obtaining their degree in School Psychology. We follow NASP best practice guidelines for internships and provide a professional training experience geared toward building a future School Psychologist's capacity in meeting a wide range of student needs in the school setting. The internship experience is a valuable opportunity to integrate and apply learned skills with support from experienced mentor School Psychologists.
Essential Job Functions
  • Participate in prevention, intervention, consultation, and assessment activities as appropriate within schools.
  • Work with a variety of student populations and perform a wide range of School Psychologist duties.
  • Conduct comprehensive educational evaluations, write reports and participate in case conferences for students ages 3-21 as assigned according to federal/state laws and local procedures and deadlines.
  • Expand knowledge of theory, best practices, procedures, and new developments as related to the practice of school psychology.
  • Complete a minimum of 2 hours of supervision per week.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with school professionals, students, and families.
Equipment
Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copier and fax machines, calculator, and telephone.
Travel Requirements
Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Pay Rates
$32.00 per hour
Work Schedule
7.25 hours a day
183 days a year
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Has an ability to work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Proficient writing skills.
  • Has good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Has the necessary time management and organizational skills

  • Currently enrolled in a School Psychology Graduate Degree program
  • Completed all necessary prerequisite coursework
