Department Description
The School of Arts + Design (SOAD) offers a wide variety of collaborative, hands on learning opportunities for students. The Front of House Staff will assist in successfully running the Front of House for public events such as gallery openings, performances, open houses, Creative Arts Fellows events, etc. In this role, Front of House Staff will primarily report to the Front of House Manager as they run the Performing Arts Front of House but may also receive communication from the SOAD Administrative Assistant or Communications Manager in regards to events in need of staff.

Students will serve as ushers and guest check-in at SOAD events and in the event the Front of House Manager cannot be at a performance, serve as House Manager also. These roles include seating guests, ensuring guests have tickets, managing ticket "sales", ensuring spaces visible to the public are clean, and helping the show to run successfully.
Job Location/ Hours Required
The majority of the time students will report to either the Pauline Theater in Hayworth Fine Arts Center or the Black Box also known as the Empty Space Theater. Occasionally shows will happen in other locations on campus and in those cases, students will be notified ahead of time. This position requires cumulatively 30 hours per semester.

- Usher for productions, providing extraordinary service to our guests
- Ensure public spaces are clean before and after each performance
- Check in guests and/or direct them to their seats
- Serve as House Manager as needed
- Other duties as necessary for individual productions
