Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a School Nurse Education Specialist to work at a facility in Jefferson City, MO . These are registry positions with our company.
Shift details:
- Days and times will vary as necessary in order to accommodate the various school district schedules we work to support. Average of 15-20 hours per week
- Occasionally may require weekend and evening work
- Occasionally may require in state travel and overnight stays
- Must hold a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing or higher working specifically with Missouri school districts with various student population counts and regional settings, on a multi-disciplinary level.
- Must have 10+ years of experience working as a School Nurse with a majority of those years being served within the state of Missouri.
- Special preference given to those employed as a School Nurse for 1+ years during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Experience working in Missouri's various rural and metropolitan counties and regions
- Comprehensive knowledge on Missouri's K-12 school hierarchy
- Understanding of the varying roles, responsibilities, limitations, and classifications of School Nurses, social workers, and counselors employed in Missouri schools
- Comprehensive knowledge of the scope and standards of school nursing practice as it pertains to Missouri law and statutes.
- Experience with the assessment and review of school health office practices.

- Ability to provide in-person and virtual profession development sessions
- Experience composing, presenting and facilitating work in front of large groups with various participant backgrounds both virtually and in person
- Prior experience developing and implementing educational workshops
- Experience working with youth of varying ages from grades K-12
- Experience working with youth who have varying degrees of special healthcare needs, chronic health conditions, and emotional/psychological/social well-being needs
- A high level of written and verbal communication skills with a strong understanding and interpretation of health literacy
- Ability to build impactful partnerships and has excellent networking skills
- Capable of being a visionary with innovative problem-solving and advanced critical and analytical thinking skills.
- Highly organized
- Decision making, mediation and problem solving skills.
- Time management skills and possess the ability to work independently within program policy.
- Ability to use technology and a variety of computer programs (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, video-conferencing, and online survey platforms) for coordinating activities and project reporting
- Must have home internet access.
- Dependable transportation is required.
- Understanding of the differences between policy and procedure within school administration as well as experience implementing new or updated policies as procedures as adapted by local school boards.
- Experience researching and developing policy and procedure for review and implementation by local school boards.
- Understanding of Missouri State CLIA regulations.
