Technology Aspect
To establish a clear duty of care, Stellar Virtual and its affiliates require all employees to cover the costs associated with acquiring and providing the equipment (i.e., computers, internet service, telephone, home office setup, etc.) associated with virtual employment.

Position Overview

The School Nurse (Contract, 1099) is a crucial part of the virtual learning environment for students across all programs at Stellar Virtual. As a virtual School Nurse, you will provide remote health support to students enrolled in virtual learning programs. This is a 1099 (Independent Contractor) role, allowing flexibility in working hours and the opportunity to work remotely.

Essential Position Functions

• Conduct virtual health assessments and consultations with students to address health concerns, injuries, and general wellness.
• Provide virtual health education sessions to students on nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and overall well-being.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records for each student, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
• Monitor and track the health status of students, identifying trends and patterns that may require intervention or additional support.
• Communicate health-related information to parents, teachers, and relevant school staff through virtual channels.
• Develop and communicate virtual emergency response plans and protocols, ensuring readiness for any health-related emergencies.
• Organize and implement virtual health promotion activities and campaigns to foster a healthy school environment.
• Use digital tools and software for health record keeping, communication, and collaboration within the virtual school environment.
• As an independent contractor, the virtual School Nurse enjoys flexibility in working hours and manages their schedule to meet the needs of students and the school.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Prior School Nursing Experience with a focus on Pediatric Nursing
• Proven experience as a School Nurse or in a related healthcare role.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective virtual interactions.
• Comfortable using telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
• Understanding of virtual school environments and the unique health needs of virtual learners.

Education & Certification Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN); Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related field.
• Active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) through the Texas Board of Nursing.
