Summary:
This position is responsible for safely transporting students, employees, and visitors to and from campus.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Transport passengers to different off-campus events or appointments. These may include local appointments such medical and dental offices or out-of-area runs to the Harrisburg, PA/Washington, DC/Baltimore, MD area airports and train stations.
- May transport athletic teams to away games and tournaments.
- May perform duties as a chaperone for unaccompanied minors when delivering students to airports.
- Maintain log of hours worked for each assignment.
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comfort working with students, school employees, and school visitors.
- Ability to keep mentally alert and maintain concentration
- Knowledge of safe driving practices especially when using GPS
- Ability to understand and adhere to traffic rules
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Timeliness in reporting to assignments
- Ability to keep accurate records.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school degree.
- Five years of driving experience
- A valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain required PA background clearances

- Environment: Majority of time is spent in a vehicle. Regularly exposed to vehicle noise, fumes, drafts, etc. when vehicle is in operation. Regular exposure to elements such as rain, snow, high or low temperatures.
- Physical: Work involves extended periods of sitting, regular standing, walking and crouching, stooping, keeling, pushing, and pulling. Use of legs and body torso to climb into van, assist passengers when necessary and maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when working on slippery surfaces during winter months and all weather conditions.
- Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction to be able to see close, distance, and depth perception.
- Hearing/Verbal: Must be able to hear and speak normal conversation in clear English.
