Delivers Wellness course for 9th and 10th grade students which addresses social emotional learning (SEL)needs of our students. This includes use of existing curricula materials and guest speakers.3). Counsels students whose behavior, school progress, or mental or physical handicap or condition indicates need for assistance.4). Consults with parents, teachers and other school personnel for defining causes of academic, behavioral, mental, emotional, or physical problems in order to effect solutions.5).
Arranges for medical, psychiatric, and other tests and examinations that may disclose causes of difficulties and indicate remedial measures.6). Recommends change of class or school, special tutoring, or other treatment to effect remedy.7). Serves as liaison between student, home, school, and community resources, like family service agencies, child guidance clinics, courts, protective services, doctors, and clergy members. 8).
Conducts social histories and adaptive behavior measures for students and their families to complete comprehensive assessments which include observations, data collection, interpretation and analysis9). Participates in identifying at-risk students experiencing academic and behavioral difficulty, designing and implementing research-based interventions, and plans progress monitoring components of Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions through the RTI process.10). Conducts risk assessments for suicidal and homicidal ideation.11). Participates as a member and case manager of the team of qualified professionals and the individualized education program (IEP) by interpreting evaluation findings, collaborating on the development of the IEP, diagnosing students eligibility consistent with district, federal, and state policies, procedures and regulations12).
Conducts group counseling sessions to enhance social development of individual members and provide peer support in areas like grief, stress, or chemical dependency.14).
