School Bus Driver

We are looking for punctual candidates with good time management skills for the position of drive. Drivers are responsible for transporting children to and from school and field trips in a timely manner. Additional responsibilities include that their vehicles are in good shape and observing safety and traffic rules while on the road with students traveling across town. Ultimately, they will ensure proper vehicle maintenance and observe traffic rules and maintain order with passengers on the bus. We are offering either both morning and afternoon pick ups full time or just the morning or afternoon pick up parttime.

Driver Responsibilities

• Transporting children and other passengers to and from schools safely and timely.

Must obtain a CDL with passenger endorsement.

• Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety.
• Carrying out vehicle maintenance checks.
• Utilizing navigation apps to find the most optimal route.
• Interacting with clients in professional conduct.
• Engage students as they enter and leave the bus.

Maintaining an organized travel schedule.

• Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops.
• Ability to carry out assigned route on time.
• Ensuring that vehicles have sufficient gas and are always ready for use.
• Regularly checking vehicle safety such as tires, brakes, turn signals and mechanical equipment.
• Arranging for vehicle repairs when necessary.
• Updating monthly mileage records.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Willingly perform all other duties as assigned.

Experience:

• A valid driver's license.
• 1-year driving experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the operating area.
• Physical strength and ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Good verbal communication.
• Proficiency using GPS devices.
• Personal/Technical Skills:
• Proven work experience as a School Bus Driver or similar role
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years
• Two or more years of experience working with children preferred
