School Bus Attendant / Bus Aide

Responsibilities and Duties:

 Assist the bus driver with navigating routes and maintaining schedules.

 Monitor students on the bus to ensure their safety and well-being during the journey.

 Ensure that students are seated appropriately and encourage them to follow School Bus

rules.

 Address and manage student behavior, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere on

the bus.

 Maintain accurate records of ridership and bus behavior.

 Maintain effective communication with the bus driver, students, school staff, and parents

regarding any issues or concerns.

 Maintain current knowledge of Emergency Evacuation procedures; assist the driver in

emergencies.

 Assist the driver in keeping a record of student attendance, noting any changes or

irregularities.

 Assist driver with pre-trip and post-trip inspections such as child checks, and lost

merchandise.

 Attends in-service meetings and training courses as assigned to stay informed about

safety protocols, emergency procedures, and student management technique

 Assist driver in regularly inspecting and reporting any issues with bus equipment, such as

seat belts, emergency exits, and communication devices.

 Maintain a cooperative attitude with colleagues, supervisors, parents, and school

personnel while promoting Chester Elite Trans’ core values.

 Maintain good work habits through timeliness and regular attendance for daily

assignments.

 Performs related duties as assigned.
