JOB TITLE:                             School Based Therapist

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:            Full-time, 40 hours/week

SCHEDULED HOURS:            Monday-Friday 8:30-5PM; in school spaces designated

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:  Manchester Schools Therapy

Assists children in the Manchester school system who have mental health and/or environmental challenges that are impacting their performance and success at school and offers supervision to school-based care coordination staff.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • In-person during school operating hours and virtual after-school hours. Summers are remote 4 days and in-person options for 1 day at out our Manchester office.
  • Designated workspace in school provided.
  • Individual, family, and parent psychotherapy sessions offered in-person at school or via telehealth.
  • Team meetings and supervision provided virtually weekly with opportunities for in-person supervision. Peer supervision is also offered monthly!
  • Opportunities for productivity incentives!
  • School-Based Clinicians can offer school providers insights on how to help the youth there serving.  
  • School admin staff and clinician meet weekly for updates, questions, or concerns.
  • Perfect step for licensed clinicians to expand into school-based therapy and work with a diverse caseload of children and families.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts assessments and implements treatment interventions consistent with fidelity to evidence based model(s) if applicable.
  • Provides individual, family and group therapy.
  • Documents ongoing client progress and outcomes.
  • Demonstrates competency in age related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served.
  • Works with clients to develop appropriate discharge plans utilizing natural supports.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with family members, school personnel and other service providers.
  • Works in collaboration with school personnel to identify potential referrals.
  • Provides crisis assessment and intervention to monitor status of clients in crisis.
  • Responsible for maintaining client and staff records according to agency policy.         
  • Participates in weekly supervision and meetings to review client and program progress

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  Master’s Degree in mental health field

Experience:  Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience as a psychotherapist working with people with mental illness and/or serious emotional disorders.  Demonstrated training and experience in all aspects of mental health treatment, assessment, evaluation and provision of individual, group and family therapy. Relevant experience to program model to which individual is assigned.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:  LMSW, LMFT-A, LPC-A in the State of CT required. LCSW, LMFT or LPC, preferred.

COMPENSATION RANGE*:   

$56,797/yr min- $81,788/yr maximum; depending upon experience.     

*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on a strict calculation process, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
