Position Name: School Age Child Care Lead Teacher

Location: Byrnedale Elementary YMCA Child Care Center

Position Type: Full-Time

Pay: $12.50 to $14.50 per hour (Plus $500 sign-on bonus)

General Functions

Under the direction of the Site Director and/or Assistant Director, the Before & After School Lead Teacher is responsible for carrying out the day to day classroom at the specified program. She/he will be responsible for planning, leading program activities, assessment, snack and meal service, and communicating effectively with the children, their parents, YMCA/JCC personnel, and the center guest when needed. She/he will work cooperatively with the center director to provide day to day guidance to the Teacher Assistants.

Qualifications

  1. An understanding and knowledge of children, their behavior and development.
  2. Specific knowledge in developmentally appropriate practices for the age group.
  3. Must have a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA (or be currently enrolled in a CDA certification program) as well as meet ODJFS licensing qualifications in training and background check.
  4. Must have or enroll in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, and Prevention of Infectious Diseases.
  5. Warm and friendly personality and the willingness to interact with the children.
  6. Meet ODJFS licensing qualifications in training and background check.
  7. We are looking for staff with a warm and friendly personality and who are vested in the importance of working with young children
