Job description

CUB Corporate in Stillwater is looking for a Schematics Manager to join our team. This position is a hybrid role with 25% of time spent traveling to stores.

Schematics Manager is responsible for developing divisional strategies, processes and communication in the area of schematic development. This specifically includes the Homestore Program and all of the activities associated to: category closing calendar, weekly cycle of the work assignments SAR’s (store activity report), store and vendor communication, and interaction. Works closely with the Store Planning Dept. to determine the plan-o-gram needs, whether new or updated, for any and all new stores, remodels and major resets. Directs and manages the implementation of each of these initiatives. Provides primary resource support to CUB division merchants and store management regarding space allocation projects and issues. May manage a team of space management analysts and store set-up coordinators.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Oversees all activities related to a new/remodel store setup to ensure accurate completion and on-time following the project schedule.
  • Manages the planogram processes, planogram analysis and inventory control, new and discontinued item processes, delivering activity reports, resolving issues or conflicts related to POG’s and reset activities.
  • Consults in areas of space allocations, category adjacencies, and fixture requirements for store layouts. Reviews, audits, and makes change recommendations for all merchandise prints prior to finalization.
  • Provides store mapping group with any store layout or category adjacencies changes to ensure up-to-date data.
  • Supervises the planogram program or strategy test process. Reviews input from vendors and assists the Space Management Analyst with any corrective action for the POG as needed.
  • Ensures accurate and timely implementation of the POG’s at store-level to maintain best in class “speed to market” with new items. Uses tracking tool to monitor space allocation of new shelf items. Communicate with stores the SAR reporting.
  • Provides management visibility to planograms, new item, and other processes critical to building sales and maximizing profits.
  • Access to planogram software systems (JDA) and floorplan systems to identify and fix planogram assignment issues and opportunities to adjust.
  • Ensures new items and discontinued item reporting is communicated out for P.O. timing, and down codes for removing items. Verifies down codes not applied to items moving to a new location
  • Coordinates with operation teams the process for store supported activities and new item cut ins.
  • Formulates and communicates all store opening and remodel information to the warehouses, stores, and vendors for the company.
  • Consults with the Set Crew Supervisors to ensure their organization, planning, and supervision of all new stores, remodels, and major resets are carried out on a timely, accurate, and professional basis while keeping disruption to the store and it’s customers to a minimum.
  • Coordinates and supports the work of the UNFI floor plan analyst & merchandising database manager.
  • Conducts periodic market checks to maintain competitive advantage and awareness as a support partner to merchandising.
  • Identify and compile fixture needs for store planogram activities, quotes to merchandising and placing of P.O.’s, following up on receiving timing. Partnering with local vendors on additional delivery or fixture needs & installation coordination.

_ Education, Certification, and Relevant Experience_

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Relevant work experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer and Microsoft office skills. Proficiency with Space Management software applications.
  • Understanding of space, adjacency, and fixture requirements for all grocery, frozen, dairy, and drug categories.
  • Detailed oriented and well organized. Able to assimilate information quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Physical Environment

  • Some work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
  • Physical activities include moving about the warehouse floor, breaking down loads, lifting up to 60 lbs. daily.
  • Potential hazards exist in regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, etc.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
  • Must be available to work flexible or unusual hours as needed, including weekends.
