We are looking for outstanding talent to fill our Scenic Carpenter role and join our award-winning fabrication team. The candidate must be well versed in all areas of carpentry fabrication and able to work well individually or as part of a team to successfully complete the task requirements of each assigned project. This Scenic Carpenter role is an integral part of the operations process that leads to a positive event experience for all parties involved.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute tasks assigned by the Fabrication Manager.
- Build items as directed using a various building materials, such as wood, PVC, acrylic, foam, etc.
- Conceptualize with creative teams to provide fabrication guidance.
- Work with and lead fabrication assistants with tasks to complete the project goal.
- Use internal computer systems to receive and complete tasks and communicate with coworkers.
- Build, install and repair various structures and fixtures both in office, and onsite at events at times.
- Collaborate with other departments for the products that require interdepartmental needs.
- Communicate project updates with teams in a timely manner.
- Use systems, equipment, and processes to successfully execute your role.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS
- Must have the knowledge and working experience representing a broad background of all crafts or disciplines of stage craft including carpentry, painting, sculpting, and properties construction.
- Enjoy a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.
- Proficiency in the use of all hand and power tools.
- Proficiency in general construction and theatrical/event construction techniques
- Ability to weld and work with metal is preferred.
- Must be an organized, committed team player who displays teamwork, good listening skills and professionalism.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Position may require standing for extended periods.
- Exposure to the warehouse environment, including noise, varying temperatures, and dust.
- Use of personal protective equipment as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
