Our co-op is currently looking for a scanning Associate for our busy Store Support department. Are you the right fit?
The purpose of the Scanning Associate is to perform identified tasks related to scanning and counting of inventory. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Planned work days to include Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and Friday.

Requirements
Department Operations
- Collaborate with the POS/IT Coordinator with respect to the established cycle count schedule, provide feedback and offer suggestions regarding the schedule and assignment of areas to count
- Conduct daily cycle counts, based upon the defined schedule
- Create physical inventory worksheets and review with POS/IT Coordinator before committing
- Take initiative in working with the applicable Buyer or Manager with respect to significant on-hand variances and provide feedback to the POS/IT Coordinator
- Assist the Receiving Department with scanning in inventory 2 days per week-Wednesday and Fridays
- Conduct store floor audits as directed by the POS/IT Coordinator for shelf tags and correct pricing.
- Effectively able to meet established deadlines with frequent interruptions
- Perform other duties as directed by the POS/IT Coordinator

- Regularly lift 50lbs safely
- Ability to be mobile throughout entire shifts
- Ability to utilize hand-held devices and count product at the same time
- Bend, squat, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Comfortable with the use of step stools for counting product
- Ability to communicate with customers and coworkers
- Sufficient vision to perform job safely and accurately
- Effective communication skills to listen and to give clear directions in English
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Answer and follow-up appropriately with customer questions via the phone or in the store
- Proficient utilization of hand-held inventory scanning devices
- Use a telephone, printer, computer, copier
- Basic data entry skills
- Basic experience using Excel
- Experience using a point-of-sale system preferred, but not required
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Prior scanning / inventory counting experience using a hand-held device is important
- Familiarity and knowledge of current trends in the natural foods industry would be helpful
- Retail experience is important
- Environment includes occasional working in a walk-in cooler and/or freezer
- Will be required to use step stools, step ladders, box cutters and pricing tools
