Job description

Position: Onshore/OffshoreScaffold Builder Reports To: Foreman Summary: Constructs and assembles scaffolding structures in accordance with safety regulations and project specifications. Essential Qualifications, Duties, and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned) Erect and dismantle scaffolding systems of all forms (system scaffold, tube and clamp scaffolding, etc.) to provide a safe working platform for the pipeline construction team on land and/or offshore. Inspect scaffolding systems regularly for damage, wear, and proper installation, and perform maintenance or repairs as needed.

Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to determine the required scaffolding design and layout. Climb and work in high places that may exceed 200' in height, in restricted spaces, places hanging over water (Offshore Personnel) and in confined spaces. Adhere to safety regulations, policies, and procedures while working at heights and ensure the scaffolding structures are secure and stable.

Assist construction crew in rigging, fire watch, back loading boat, etc. Assist crane operator with equipment and the transportation of material to job site. Assist welders/fitters with assembly of pipe, pipe fittings, pipe spools by bolt up flange connections, etc.

Select, transport, and handle scaffolding materials, including planks, frames, braces, and anchors, safely and efficiently. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as forklifts or hoists to assemble and position scaffolding components accurately. Maintain accurate records of scaffolding inventory, inspections, and repairs, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions; work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of radiation and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Physical Demands: The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Scaffold Builders must be willing to comply with PCM Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and regulations.
